The development of ocean governance for marine environment protection: Current legal system in Taiwan

Taiwan establishes Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) in 2018. governance has reached a new milestone. In 2019, the Basic Act was enacted. 2020, National Policy White Paper published, meaning that specialized ocean authorities, regulations, enforcement units, and relevant mechanisms policies. The Conservation Administration (OCA) is also responsible for marine environmental protection conservation. To ensure good governance, maintain resources, protect environment, OCA recently drafted Marine sustainable development. This article mainly reviews, analyzes, compares Taiwan’s current marine-related laws regulations refers to laws, policies, of other countries provide suggestions on ongoing draft Act.
